Mesclun Restaurant, Ortigas– They say the best conversations happen around the dining table. We say yes to that and yes that these moments, laughter and stories shared are worth more than any gift a son or daughter could buy for their father. For Father’s Day, why not treat dad and the whole family to a filling and flavorful feast?

Here are our menu items that we are sure your dad (and the whole family) will love. Ready? Read on.

First, our take on the famous buffalo wings.

Who could resist the tangy-with-a-kick buffalo sauce matched with the creamy blue cheese dip that complements the flavors? Now imagine not having to deal with the bones. Boneless buffalo wings? Better– buffalo balls. The shape makes it easier for dipping, too. Best to eat before your mains.

During events we cater to such as weddings, the buffalo balls is a crowd favorite. It’s one example of simple but delicious.

(Tried this appetizer before? Let us know on Facebook what you think.)

If dad feels like skipping the rice, try the 1/2 Pound Angus Burger. Real and juicy U.S. Angus beef between crispy lettuce, fresh tomatoes, dolloped with spicy garlic sauce and mayo mustard. The Angus Burger also comes with our famous steak fries. thus filling on its own as a meal. Need we say more?

If the burger isn’t enough, maybe some pasta? We suggest the Sisig Spaghetti. Come again? Yes, you read that right– sisig spaghetti. Al dente spaghetti, crispy pork sisig and chicharon bits, held together with light cream sauce. Mix with the chili and calamansi. It’s not oily like regular sisig dishes. It’s surprisingly light and, surprisingly, everything works. You can order two plates since it’s not that heavy (and is quite addictive).

Find out why this pasta dish is our not-so-secret best seller to our regulars.

And finally, a dish that would remind anyone of home.  Make dad (and the rest of the family) try the house-cured corned beef. Not your ordinary beef dish, Mesclun’s house-cured corned beef is tender and makes one feel like it’s prepared from your old house’s kitchen from lola’s signature beef nilaga recipe. Served with rice pilaf and broth on the side. A fresh take on this heart-warming dish but at the same time still familiar and hits close to home.

Honoring our dads this Sunday need not be extravagant. Shared meals and shared stories around the dining table will be well worth more than what you will be spending. Besides, time spent with family is always time well spent. Get to know dad better over a warm meal, or have him tell you that story again of you falling off your bike and fighting back tears. Enjoy our carefully prepared dishes using only the finest ingredients. But above all, enjoy each other’s company as we take care of your dining experience.

Drop by Mesclun Restaurant and Cafe this Father’s Day. Call 638-7878 local 3602 before dining to reserve a table for the whole family. Walk-ins are also welcome.
